同學們好，我是SK2實力養成班顧問J2(Jacob).
最近在實力養成班每周二下午1-5pm「陪你讀」時間，聽到同學講口說舉例
的時候，很容易制式化的說，For example, one time... When I was in
university…, Last year…, 等等。舉一個過去的實例當然是個很好的方
式，但是有時候硬要用過去的例子，反而很容易卡住，或是相對的變化性就
很小，以下分享其他的舉例方式讓同學參考看看。
譬如題目是：
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is
important for people to have good manners.
假設立場是同意：
I agree that it is important for people to have good manners. This
is because I want to make more friends.
一般可能會試著用過去的一個故事（即使不是真的）來舉例佐證，試著說服
聽者，例如：
For example, one time I saw a old woman trying to get across the
street, so I tried to help her. At the same time, a guy also came
along and offered to carry the things of the old woman. Later I
talked to the guy a little bit and found out that he also lived in
the neighborhood so we ended up becoming good friends. That is why
I believe by having good manners, I can make more friends.
但其實也不見的一樣要用過去的例子。同學在發展例子時，其實有很多種方
式。也可以嘗試下面「假設」的方式：For example, if I go to a party
and I hold the door for a stranger, maybe I will leave a good
impression on her, and maybe later at the party we’ll bump into
each other again and she’ll be more willing to talk to me, and I
get to know her more and we can be friends. So if I show good
manners to people all the time, the chances that I make new
friends will be higher. That is why I agree that people should
have good manners.
或是利用「通常會發生的情況」，試著徵求聽者的認同，而達到說服聽者的
目的，例如:
For example, usually when you show good manners such as offering a
word of welcome when meet ing new people, they will feel that you
respect them or you care about them. And when people feel they are
important to someone, they tend to open their heart and are more
willing to make friends with you. Thus, I can make more friends by
having good manners.
可以注意到要讓例子具體，有時候人事時地物不一定要完全滿足，像這裡認
識新朋友其實就只要講new people, 但這個例子還是可以很具體的因為有提
到像是怎麼樣show good manner? 當認識新朋友時「表示歡迎」，還有說到
如果受到尊重，通常會「敞開心胸」，更容易跟他成為朋友。
所以同學下次在舉例的時候，除了講過去發生的事，可以嘗試看看用「假
設」或是「通常會發生的情況」來發展佐證，會讓你的口說例子發展更靈
活，也比較不如意被侷限住，講的時候卡住喔！
