and Away
I
want to feel totally free,
Up to the sky and down into the sea,
is where my soul wishes to be.
Bound but happy is the present me,
but away and free is where I wish to be.
I long to know
how big the world can be?
If the world can be measured by arm length,
then how many times me?
I long to find out
what flavor can be a dream?
as soft and as delicious
as a strawberry tart's cream.
I crave to savor
a blissful love's flavor,
so intense and strong
that I shake with deep rapture.
I wish to feel
how free my soul can be,
so light and carefree,
that it fills me with ecstasy.
I long to know
whether reveries ever come true,
as concrete and real
as me or you.

親愛的同學，
不知道正在準備出國或是即將出國的你，
是否對未來的國外生活同樣充滿憧憬與無限好奇？
這是一首當時去美國交換學生前寫下的詩。
而我的確非常非常喜歡在國外念書學習的感覺。
我喜歡在悠閒午後坐在長椅上感受微風，
我喜歡抬頭盡是一片火紅楓葉入眼，
我喜歡因為不同文化而衝撞出的無限火花與蠢事。
當你正在邊上班邊煩惱該如何找出時間念書，
當你卡在瓶頸上不去而感到慌亂無助時，
當你看著一個個好友考完試申請上了甚至念完書，
甚至當你接到學校的拒絕信時，
請你好好想一想，
你未來兩年想要過的生活。
請試著想像一下，
未來徜徉在校園裡與三五好友歡笑的開心，
一起到處旅行探險不知前方景物的興奮，
畢業典禮當天拿到證書丟帽子的歡樂淚水！
當你想起這些對你而言美好的畫面、重要的時刻，
永遠永遠請都要緊緊用手按住你的心，
感受著心因悸動而怦然的感覺。
記住這樣的感動！
請為自己人生中值得奮鬥的事好好地賭一把吧！
